What is Natural Selection?
Natural selection is a theory first discovered by Charles Darwin. The theory states that "good" traits are passed on and that bad or ones that aren't useful are lost. Originally a naturalist named Jean-Baptiste Lamarck came up with the idea that traits acquired during life were passed on. Darwin soon proved this theory wrong, but he agreed with one component of it. Evolution does have a lot to do with nature. He realized that nature guides evolution and nature guides natural selection. By looking at the finches in the Galapagos islands he discovered that their traits were ever changing depending on the environment food source, and predators.
